What is astrology?
Astrology is a discipline that deals with the study of the symbolic interaction of the positions and movements of heavenly bodies and thus on events on Earth, as well as human personality or the sequence of events.

The science that claims divine information about human affairs and earthly events studies the movements and relative positions of celestial bodies. Dating back to at least the 2nd millennium BC, astrology has its roots in calendar systems used to predict seasonal changes and interpret celestial cycles as signs of divine communication.

Many cultures placed importance on astronomical events, and some, such as the Hindus, Chinese, and Mayans, developed elaborate systems for predicting earthly events from celestial observations.

Western astrology, one of the oldest astrological systems still in use, can trace its roots to Mesopotamia from the 19th to 17th centuries BC, from where it spread to ancient Greece, Rome, the Arab world, and eventually central and western Europe. Contemporary Western astrology is often associated with horoscope systems that seek to explain aspects of a person’s personality and predict significant events in their lives based on the positions of celestial objects; most professional astrologers rely on such systems.
