This Quality is the instigator of most things with the zodiac. These signs are found in all the key points on a chart wheel: the Imum Coeli (I.C.), the Medium Coeli (M.C. or Midheaven), the Ascendant and the Descendant. If you are of the Cardinal Quality, it’s likely that you too like to instigate most activities and work. You’re very active and enterprising. The energy expressed through this quality is very powerful, but it’s usually short lived – a bit like when a match is struck – there is that initial burst of flame that is big but it dies down quickly.
